The Challenge

There are 130 million cell phones that will be discarded annually in American alone. Over 65 million cell phones are stockpiled in US households creating 30,000 tons of potential hazardous waste. That means there are plenty of cell phones to be collected and recycled to help raise money for a different cause, and help to protect the environment. If you found a free moment would you consider going to a cell phone store such as Alltel, Verizon Wireless, or T-mobile and asking if they recycle phones? If they do ask them if they would be willing to donate them for a good cause? Think about the difference it would make.
